YHBF Biodiversity Mapping Planning Guidance launched

The Yorkshire & Humber Biodiversity Forum have published two documents aimed at Local Authority and other planners to help them incorporate biodiversity into their local maps and planning.
The guidance documents are to accompany the new Regional Biodiversity Opportunity Areas map - the culmination of a year's work and input from many stakeholders around the region as part of the Regional Biodiversity Strategy. The guidance explains the regional map and how it can be used to develop local biodiversity maps and networks as part of the planning process.
The two guidance documents are:
The 'Planning Guidance - Mapping for Biodiversity in Yorkshire & the Humber: A guide to identifying and mapping biodiversity opportunity areas and ecological networks'
and
'Yorkshire & Humber Region: Biodiversity Opportunity Areas Mapping - Methodology'
These are both available to download below and include contact details to obtain the GIS map files which are held by Natural England on behalf of the YHBF.
